Phuket Souvenir Shops

The souvenir trade covers every price point on Phuket. Night markets, Chillva in Phuket Town and the weekend market near Central, carry the volume end: printed shirts, carved soap flowers, magnets and rattan bags, all priced to haggle. Beach-road shops in Patong and Karon sell the same stock at marked-up fixed prices.

For something made on the island, batik painting studios sell hand-dyed fabric and run short workshops, cashew and dried-fruit factories south of Phuket Town do tastings, and pearl farms off the east coast supply the showrooms with graded strings. Old Phuket Town's shophouses hold the independent design shops, strongest on prints and homeware.
